The normal every day Christian experience has us doing that which we know we ought not do – in fact, doing some things we (and God) actually hate. The normal every day Christian experience has us living victoriously in the Spirit as we see the flesh victoriously restrained. Both experiences are equally true and at times in the same week, if not the same day. A reason many Christians live in a frustrated state can be attributed to our unwillingness to fight and put the flesh to death. We experience moments of spiritual victory and become relaxed in a battle that the flesh relentlessly fights.
