There are times when you come across a passage in Scripture and it is simply hard to understand. This Sunday we come across one of those passages. How do we understand Paul’s command to slaves as part of the household passages in Colossians. Some people immediately dismiss the Bible as God’s Word because passages like this are there, some are so troubled by passages like these that they suggest the Bible contains God’s Word but isn’t His Word, some skip over these passages and others move too quickly to talk about work/employer relations. But Paul isn’t speaking to employees. He is speaking to slaves who are considered to be the property of their Masters. Why isn’t Paul advocating for their freedom? Why is he encouraging them to submit? Join us Sunday as we look at the topic of what we do, When Scripture Doesn’t make Sense. The notes are attached.
