What the work of Christ accomplished

The accomplished work of Chris is our anchor and hope.  But what does that mean on a day to day basis? What bearing does the accomplished work of Christ have on my day to day routine…on the emails I send at work, the texts I send to friends, the way I spend my money, the way I treat my neighbours. Am I saved simply to fight to have some kind of devotional relationship with God at various intervals during the week or something much greater and richer.
