Romans 4:1-17

We don’t want it to be true. We desperately want what we’ve done to count for something. We dread being the person on the team or in the band or in the study group that can’t ‘pull their weight.’ It’s partly our pride, partly our sense of self-worth all wrapped up in our identity. We want what we can contribute to count in our saving faith when in fact the very opposite is true – our trying to get to God only takes us further from Him, while our surrendering to God draws us to Him.

Join us as we explore the exhilarating truth of God’s free, saving grace. This grace is given to us because of the accomplished work of Christ, not because of who we are but in spite of who we are. Until we grasp this, we can’t grasp the gospel.
