Romans 1:18-25

Most of us want to avoid the topic of God’s wrath. It might be a reaction from the judgmental way hell was talked about where others were left thinking that ‘they’ deserved hell (and we didn’t). It might be that we want to characterize God simply as loving and kind. It may be that we fear we may repulse people from the gospel if they hear about that fact that God is a just and holy God whose wrath has been and is revealed. My greatest problem is not that I have some dysfunction and God has a self-help remedy for me to follow. My greatest problem is that I’ve alienated myself from God…I’m separated from Him. And God gloriously provides the answer through the accomplished work of Jesus Christ…but we will never know how good the good news is until we understand how bad the bad news is.
