My wife Elaine and I came to Canada from Brazil in September of 2008 with our two sons José and Isaac.
Prior to coming to Canada, I pastored three churches in Brazil as an ordained pastor. We came to Canada as missionaries with SIM-Brazil/Canada and settled in Hamilton at James North Baptist Church right from the start.
Our focus here has been for the marginalized, the newcomers, and for the immigrant population in our neighbourhood; trying to welcome them well and be hospitable as much as we can in order to facilitate the gospel to all and to help them adjust easily to their new life.
God put it in our hearts to launch a few ministries: "The Hub," which is a type of Christian Community service with food, entertainment, and gospel sharing, as well as a weekly "Portuguese Breakfast".
Besides that, we run "Coffee's On" a food bank and place of fellowship. We also make home visits while shepherding the Portuguese community.
My wife and I are very passionate for the Portuguese-Brazilian people and for refugees as well. I also preach in Portuguese at another church and oversee a Karen-based church which meets weekly for their service.
We welcome you to check out these ministries and to contact us if you would like to be part of them. See you soon hopefully.
