When I started at Hughson St. Baptist Church in 1995, I could confidently say that most people would leave a church mainly because of its philosophy of ministry over and against its theology; as most of us agreed theologically in core doctrinal areas. That is no longer true. Christians are disagreeing and dividing over core doctrinal matter. This also isn’t new. The early church navigated issues of doctrine. At this point, all they had was the Old Testament, a couple of Epistles and likely one Gospel. How did the new testament church discern their doctrinal disagreements?
Join us Sunday as we examine the ways the early church delt with doctrinal disagreements.
