Our experience with love is often a disappointing one. We end up in relationship with others. Sometimes by choice. Sometimes by birth. Sometimes by proximity (school, work, neighbourhood). We chose to love others and receive love from them. But love isn’t all we experience. We also hurt others and are hurt by them. Sometimes our love is mixed with selfish motives. Sometimes their love is. Some are so hurt that they never want to love again. How do we celebrate love at Christmas? How can we learn to trust a God whose love is pure when a pure love is outside of anything we’ve experienced with anyone else.
Join us on the fourth Sunday of advent as we look at God’s genuine love for us.
